We Champion Participatory Governance and Development in Kakamega County and beyond
We are a non-partisan county network of Kenyan civil society organizations operating in Kakamega County with a shared vision of promoting effective county governance and participatory development. The network and consequent coordination will enable the organizations to effectively respond to community needs and desires towards realization of the public good.
Our Community of Practice Network
Established in 2022 through the support of the Kenya Community Development Foundation (KCDF), the Kakamega Community of Practice (K-COP) Network is a collaborative platform bringing together diverse organizations operating within Kakamega County. With a focus on addressing key issues such as governance and accountability, climate change and environment, health, and gender equality. K-COP serves as a vital nexus for collective action and knowledge exchange.
K-COP is dedicated to mobilizing support within Kakamega County to enhance access to essential social services for the broader community. Through strategic lobbying and advocacy initiatives at the county level, K-COP aims to foster positive systemic change and improve the quality of life for all residents.
Membership
The K-COP Network comprises more than 25 member organizations representing diverse sectors, including the public sector, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and government agencies. Members are united by a shared commitment to addressing pressing social issues and contributing to positive change within Kakamega County.
