Organization Development and Systems Strengthening

As part of its commitment to enhancing the capacity and sustainability of its members, the Kakamega Community of Practice (KCOP) Network is actively involved in training member organizations on organizational development (OD) and systems strengthening.

Through these trainings, KCOP equips member organizations with the skills and tools needed to improve their internal structures, processes, and overall operational efficiency.

Advocating for implementation of public participation policy

The Kakamega Community of Practice (KCOP) Network is actively championing the implementation of public participation policies to promote inclusive governance and ensure community voices are at the center of decision-making processes.

Public participation is a cornerstone of democracy and accountability, enabling citizens to engage meaningfully in shaping policies, plans, and decisions that impact their lives. KCOP’s efforts in this area include:

Policy Awareness and Education

Educating community members, civil society organizations, and local leaders about the importance of public participation policies, their rights, and the mechanisms for involvement.

Stakeholder Engagement

Facilitating dialogue between county government officials, civil society, and the public to create platforms for collaboration and mutual understanding.

Advocacy for Policy Implementation

Working with county government to integrate public participation frameworks into governance structures and ensure these policies are effectively operationalized.
